A profusion of orchids

There’s a large meadow at the Knapp and Papermill nature reserve which was looking spectacular this week, awash with flowers – and in particular with orchids. Although I’ve seen clumps of orchids before, I’ve never seen so many in one place – certainly hundreds, probably thousands.

There were plenty of other flowers mixed with the orchids.
