Kingfisher at Upton Warren

I had a bit of luck Sunday evening at the Upton Warren nature reserve. I arrived at the Water Rail Hide, and just as I sat down someone pointed out that a kingfisher had landed on a nearby branch in front of us.

The hide is well known for being a spectacularly good location for photographing kingfishers, and many have taken great shots from there (eg John Caswell’s collection here). I’m excited to get my first good set.
